Westerville has three distinct kinds of housing, and each one ages differently. Near Uptown and Otterbein University you'll find homes from the late 1800s and early 1900s with steep pitches, multiple layers of old roofing, and decking that needs a careful look once the old shingles come off. Across the middle of the city are 1960s–1980s ranches and split-levels that are on their second or third roof.
